On a sunny April 15th 1999, Peter Van Speybroek opens the first Pro-Duo hair & beauty shop in Belgium (Deinze). Their customers liked the concept of unlimited choice and the freedom to only buy what you need.

The concept turned out to be a huge success, and 11 new shops were opened in the second year of Pro-Duo's existance. All new locations were in Belgium.

That year Pro-Duo opened it's first shop in France. A very clear sign of it's international ambition and a path to further growth was created.

Pro-Duo was growing, the product range was increasing, so central warehouses were needed. Two opened, one in Belgium and one in France.

Pro-Duo celebrated the opening of its 20th Hair & Beauty shop.

The concept of the Pro-Duo Hair&Beauty shops were that succesfull that a first franchising business opened in Belgium (Aalst).

Pro-Duo wins the award of "the most promosing franchising partner" at the world franchise exhibition in Paris. Due to this occasion, a franchising brochure was created.

In 2008, Pro-Duo was acquired by the American based Sally Beauty Holdings. Sally is the world's largest distributor of professional beauty supplies and owns and operates more than 3500 stores worldwide. The acquisition would enable further growth for Pro-Duo, while Sally gained an excellent platform to expand their operations in Europe.

In Germany, 30 Sally Beauty Supply shops started transforming into Pro-Duo Hair & Beauty shops. In the meantime, Pro-Dup put his first steps in Spain. Pro-Duo opened a brand new 7000 m² warehouse in Belgium (Gent) and next to it, its new european headquarters.
